The 2024 New South Wales Game Fishing Association (NSWGFA) Interclub event concluded recently, leaving anglers and spectators alike in awe of the remarkable displays of skill, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. Held amidst the stunning backdrop of Port Stephens, Interclub is a premier event that brings together passionate anglers and fishing enthusiasts from across New South Wales
One of the standout features of the 2024 NSWGFA Interclub was the unprecedented level of enthusiasm from anglers. Boasting a diverse array of competitors, ranging from seasoned veterans to up-and-coming talents, from large game boats to smaller trailerable vessels, the event truly embodied the spirit of inclusivity and passion for the sport. Anglers from different clubs across New South Wales converged to showcase their angling prowess and vie for top honors.
Congratulations to the Newcastle Port Stephens Game Fish Club for achieving a clean sweep in both the Tag & Release and Capture categories. Special mention to Capture Team 2 from Newcastle Port Stephens Game Fish Club consisting of Public Enemy, No Excuse & Side Effect for back-to-back wins in the Champion Boat – Capture category.
Throughout the duration of the Interclub, participants engaged in fierce yet friendly competition, with each angler striving to land the biggest and most elusive catches. From marlin and mahi mahi to sharks, the offshore waters teemed with an abundance of game fish, providing ample opportunities for anglers to test their skills.
