Tuna Masters Tournaments and Raymarine have crowned their longstanding collaboration in fishing this year by becoming the main sponsor (title sponsor) of the Tuna Masters Alaçatı Tournament. The countdown has begun for Europe's largest offshore fishing tournament, which will take place from September 14th to 17th, 2023, hosted by Marin Alaçatı.
With a history, Raymarine products have always provided the latest technologies and the best solutions with their user-friendly approach. The new member of the Raymarine family, Axiom series, has become an indispensable tool for fishermen since its launch. It is no coincidence that the Tuna Masters Tournaments and many participating boats in the tournament are equipped with this new system. The Tuna Masters series will take place with the participation of Raymarine for the 8th time at Teos Marina in Sığacık Seferihisar, from September 7th to 10th. In both tournaments, the newly released Raymarine products will be presented in detail, including their applications and uses, and the Raymarine technical team will be ready to provide support to all participants.
Bringing together all of Turkey's skilled fishermen, the Tuna Masters series also welcomes numerous international athletes every year. Throughout the years, the tournaments have broken numerous amateur fishing records, including a giant bluefin tuna weighing 295 kg in 2017. In 2021, a giant swordfish measuring 275 cm led its team to the championship podium. The tournaments of the previous year set a new record, surpassing the total number of strikes, catches, and most importantly, the highest number of fish released in any tournaments held in Turkey. A total of 154 strikes and battles, 64 catches, and 34 releases showcased an unprecedented record, surpassing the cumulative catch of all tournaments held in Turkey to date. According to the tournament rules, only one competitor can compete with each fish caught on the line, and the fishing line's breaking strength is limited to 28 kg. These handicaps imposed on the competing teams make winning the competition much more challenging and intensify the excitement of the tournament at every moment.
The participating boats' location is tracked in real-time through a vehicle tracking system and the competition application, and all the battles are recorded with four referee boats and eight cameras, ensuring strict adherence to the rules. Tuna Masters tournaments have been Europe's largest offshore fishing tournament for years. Tuna Masters Teos and Alaçatı tournaments have turned the region into one of Europe's most important fishing centers in the recent years.
Like every year, the Tuna Masters Teos and Alaçatı tournaments will once again transform into a fairground showcasing new products and technologies with the participation of leading sponsors in the navigation, fishing, boating, marine engine, sports apparel, and other industries. The Tuna Masters tournaments, with events such as the return to shore, fish weighing, and gala dinner, will attract thousands of spectators to Teos Marina and Marin Alaçatı and will be open to all spectators.
