Transducers convert electrical pulses into sound waves and transmit these waves into the water. When the transducer receives the reflections (echoes), the fish finder converts the sound waves back to electrical pulses to interpret what is below the surface of the water. Fish finder transducers detect fish, bottom structures, and the sea bed topography. Some transducer models also feature built-in water temperature or speed sensors.
